Fall is Here! Time to Get Your Cozy On!

Fall is one of my favorite times of the year. The air changes, I start baking pumpkin bread, casseroles, and soups and I rummage through my storage bins to find all my fall décor. Bringing fall into the home doesn’t necessarily mean loading the house up with pumpkins and scarecrows. It can be subtle changes with colors, textures, and even lighting. Whether you're looking to refresh your living room, bedroom, or kitchen, here are some of the top fall trends for interior design in residential spaces.

Earthy, rich, warm colors like deep forest green, burnt orange, mustard yellow, and terracotta are a perfect way to welcome fall. These hues create a cozy and inviting atmosphere, perfect for curling up with a good book or hosting a family gathering. Incorporate these colors with throw pillows, area rugs, ceramics, or even upholstery.

In line with the earthy color palette, natural materials are also a significant trend this fall. Incorporate wooden coffee tables, jute rugs, and stone fireplace surrounds to infuse your space with a touch of the great outdoors.

Fall is synonymous with coziness so add some plush, soft textures this season. You can achieve this with faux fur throws, velvet upholstery, and woolen blankets. Layering textures creates depth and visual interest, making your space feel warm and inviting.

Nature’s elements bring the outdoors inside. Houseplants, botanical prints, and nature-inspired decor are the perfect add to any space. Houseplants not only purify the air but also add a refreshing touch of greenery. Botanical prints on pillows, wallpapers, or art pieces add a timeless vibe.

Vintage and retro elements are also making a strong comeback. Mid-century modern furniture, vintage-inspired lighting fixtures, and antique accessories add character and a sense of history to your home. Local thrift shops, estate sales, or online marketplaces are a great source for finding inexpensive décor.

Lighting can dramatically influence the ambiance of a room. Pendant lights, chandeliers with warm tones, and unique floor lamps can create focal points and add an extra layer of sophistication to your space.

That’s a lot to take in but remember, you can do as little or as much as you want. Enjoy the season and transform you space into a cozy sanctuary that reflects the beauty of this wonderful season!
