What's Trending in Your Backyard?

Here are some top trends for outdoor spaces this year. Google Trends data was used to compile the list.

Indoor-outdoor spaces: Shaded & private outdoor spaces with weather-resistant lounge furniture, outdoor carpets and mood lighting are popular this season.

Backyard play sets: Backyard play sets, tree houses, and even giant checkers games or outdoor reading nooks.

Gardening: Container gardening continues in popularity. Containers allow flexible placement on decks, patios and anywhere in between. Add flowers, fruits and vegetables and enjoy them throughout the summer.

Garden gnomes: I've always loved the garden gnome and they can't help but make you smile. They are being placed around yards for some whimsical fantasy accents. Too cute!

Front porch: The front porch a great place to watch the world go by. Lighting, seating, and screened in porches encourage outdoor gathering. It's a great way to get to know your neighbors too.

Hot tubs: Hot tubs seem to come and go but it sounds like they are back again.
